Part 4 — Report Details · Chapter 4.2
Work Order Counts
This chapter explains the Work Order Counts report. The rules every report shares are in chapter 4.1.
What it shows
How many work orders were made in each month, quarter or year.
What you need to do to make it work
Nothing has to be entered on the work order. One setting matters:
- Map your cancelled statuses. An administrator opens Reports > Setup > Milestone Mapping, ticks each status that means the job was called off, presses Map Selected… and picks Cancelled. Until then, cancelled work orders count like any other.
Where the data comes from
Your work orders. BigWave copies each work order with its date made, customer, project and region, and its assigned technicians.
How it is worked out
Each work order counts as 1 in the period it was made. The figure is the number of work orders in that period.
What counts
A work order counts when all of these are true:
- It is a real work order, not a template.
- It and its project are not deleted.
- Its latest status does not map to Cancelled.
- The day it was made falls inside the years you chose.
- Its project is one you ticked in Projects, or you left All projects.
Its status, its invoices and its visits do not matter. An open work order and a finished one each count as 1.
Which date puts it in a period
The day the work order was made, on your company’s calendar. It is not the Request Received date on its Details panel.
BigWave uses the time zone set for your company. A work order made at 11 pm on 31 October counts in October, wherever the person who made it is.
Options
- Group By offers Company, Project, Region and Technician. To split by customer, use Work Order Counts by Customer.
- Compare to last year draws a grey line for the same period a year earlier. It shows when Group By is Company.
- Show trend draws an orange line through the average of each period and the two before it. One odd month then does not hide the direction. It shows for months and quarters.
