Load Data Into Excel
Initializing and updating your project data by uploading changes via Excel is a great way to keep your project data fresh without the drudgery of entering it manually. A variety of elements may be uploaded. Using a predefined Excel template, you merely transfer your data to Excel, upload it to the BigWave website, and BigWave seamlessly imports all of your information.Seed Dataloader
Accessed via the Actions / Load Data menu option, the Dataloader auto-populates internal personnel, customer, customer corporate contact, customer site, customer site contact, partners, and partner contact information. The primary use is to initialize your copy of BigWave software, and/or to load a customer's data when a new project is kicked off.
Site Billing Loader
BigWave enables you to capture all of the costs and billing for each site worked in your project. Billing data may be imported into your accounting system for invoicing as well, compared against budgets to give an idea of how your project is performing to plan, and be used to give an instant snapshot of what margins the project is operating at.
Manual entry of the billing data is something that is natural to do during the course of a project, but there are times when it is necessary to apply a billing item to multiple sites, remove existing billing from multiple sites, or update existing billing items.
BigWave provides a spreadsheet of the billing across all of the sites in the project. This data can be manipulated and massaged in Excel. Once set, simply load the billing into BigWave for immediate application to the project.
Project Budget Loader
Site cost budgeting is a great way to track how your project is performing against expected expenses. Budgeting is granular to each pricing category at the site level. This means for each site you can budget labor, travel, meals, etc. Also for each pricing category, budget and actuals data is rolled up to an overall view of fiscal performance at the project level. As sites are worked, actuals data entered provides the budget vs actuals reporting in the system.
Budgeting down to the site level is a powerful feature, but manual entry of all that budget data really isnt workable. We created the perfect solution, by enabling you to upload budgets via Excel.
To use this feature, BigWave provides you a spreadsheet containing all sites in the project combined with all of the pricing categories that exist in the system. Then you quickly fill in budget data for all your sites using standard data copying features of Excel. Adjust sites that may have extra or fewer costs.
Once you have the budgets set, simply load them into the project to make them available for immediate reporting. During the life of the project you may do this as often as necessary to mass update budget information.
Custom Field Loader
BigWave features an extensive custom field system enabling you to create as many fields as you require in a variety of areas of the system (including people, sites, projects, etc).
Many BigWave customers create custom fields primarily for tracking site specific data. The data for each field at each site can be manually entered and adjusted. However, this can be a very laborious.
To fix this issue, BigWave enables you to load these fields from Excel directly into the system. Simply upload a spreadsheet populated with the information for the fields, and BigWave will seamlessly import that data into each site within your project.
